The Abbey Gothic arch
The inspiration for this Gothic arch was the main entrance of one of our many local Gothic churches. In Leeds you don’t have to go far to see fantastic Gothic design.
The arch consists of 10 sections easy to assemble for any experienced DIY person. We will be adding construction tips that will help to make building your folly simple. The top arch section has the appearance of a four sections arch. This was achieved by cutting into the sections to produce mortar joint seams. The seams will be filled with the matching mortar for the building either before construction or after.
Each of the four columns and base stones have a hollow section that may be filled with concrete before the top arch support stones are fitted making this a very solid structure.
The finish of the Gothic arch is slightly textured to give the look of age and weathering.
